IRL Content Best Practices

IRL content—videos where the creator appears on camera—consistently produces higher trust, engagement, and audience retention. Most social platforms, including TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels, prioritize human-driven content in their recommendation algorithms. Therefore, IRL videos are one of the most effective formats for participating in the VOXEL Partner Program.

Below are VOXEL’s official guidelines for producing high-quality IRL content.

1. Preparing for Filming

1.1. Lighting

  • Use natural light or soft ring lighting whenever possible.

  • Avoid strong shadows on the face.

  • The creator’s face should be clearly visible at all times.

1.2. Clean Background

  • The background should not distract the viewer.

  • VOXEL-branded elements are acceptable.

  • Avoid clutter, prohibited symbols, or political visuals.

1.3. Camera & Audio

  • Keep the camera stable—use a tripod or hold the phone with both hands.

  • Audio must be clear; avoid outdoor noise and wind.

  • Use a lavalier microphone when available.

2. On-Camera Presence

2.1. Audience Connection

  • Look directly into the camera to create a sense of communication.

  • Use a confident, friendly tone.

2.2. Movement & Emotion

  • Moderate hand gestures help improve retention.

  • Small dynamic motions make the video feel lively.

2.3. Branding

Approved branding elements include:

  • VOXEL merchandise,

  • accessories,

  • visual identity items.

Branding should be organic and non-intrusive.

3.1. The Hook (first 1–2 seconds)

Purpose: capture attention instantly.

Examples of effective hooks:

  • “I didn’t expect VOXEL to pay this much VCOIN…”

  • “Here’s how I farm models every day…”

  • “A VOXEL tip that completely changed my progress…”

3.2. Main Content

  • Explain the mechanic or experience clearly and directly.

  • Avoid long pauses or monotone delivery.

  • Show your phone screen if demonstrating gameplay or actions.

3.3. Ending

  • Give a short conclusion: benefit, result, or insight.

  • Optional soft CTA: “Want to try it yourself? Link in bio.”

4. Behavioral Recommendations

4.1. Be Honest

  • No fake earnings.

  • No exaggerated claims or misleading promises.

4.2. Stay Positive

  • Algorithms prefer friendly, optimistic content.

  • Avoid negativity and toxicity.

4.3. Show Personality

  • Light humor, emotions, and authenticity are highly valued.

  • Audiences follow people, not just games.

5. Technical Recommendations

5.1. Format

  • Vertical format (9:16).

  • Minimum 720p; 1080p recommended.

5.2. Editing

  • Fast cuts increase retention.

  • Use subtitles (auto or manual)—they increase watch time by 18–35%.

  • Ideal duration: 10–25 seconds (YouTube may be longer).

6. Common Mistakes to Avoid

❌ Poor lighting ❌ Filming from an unflattering low angle ❌ Too much or too little branding ❌ Overloaded transitions and effects ❌ Monotonous speech ❌ Filming in noisy environments ❌ Long intros or slow pacing

7. Examples of Strong IRL Content

✔ “I tested a new VOXEL mechanic—here’s what happened!” ✔ “My honest opinion after 7 days of playing…” ✔ “Challenge completed: farming a model in 24 hours.” ✔ “How I use VCOIN and what it did for me.”

8. Updates to the IRL Guidelines

VOXEL may update the IRL Best Practices to align with platform trends and improve content quality within the Program.
